/ Three teams were able to achieve victory, on Friday, with the start of the first round of the first group of the Iraqi Premier League football competitions for the 2023-2024 season.
In the first match, the Al-Janoub Masafi team achieved victory over Afak Club with two goals to none. The first goal for Al-Masafi came from player Chris in the 8th minute, and Sajjad Bashir in the 45th minute.
Al-Fahd Club was also able to achieve victory over its guest, Al-Sharqat Club, by two goals to one. Al-Sharqat scored first through Atallah Muhammad in the 29th minute, and Al-Fahd Club was able to equalize through Kessie, and player Jaber Raed Turki added the second goal.
In the third match, the Nasiriyah team defeated its host Samarra with an unanswered goal, and the only goal for Nasiriyah came from Imad Al-Hamwi in the 23rd minute.
While the Sulaymaniyah Peshmerga and Maysan teams tied 3-3, the Sulaymaniyah Peshmerga team scored through Raad Fanar in the 8th minute, Ibrahim Muhammad in the 23rd minute, and Stephen Sarfo in the 56th minute.
While the Maysan team’s goals came from Mohamed Hassan from the first penalty kick in the 34th minute, the same player returned and scored the second goal from a penalty kick also in the 68th minute, and Ali Adel scored the equalizing goal in the 88th minute.
Within the competitions, Etisalat Club tied with Al Karma Club with a score of 2-2. Al Karma’s two goals were scored by Montazer Rahim in the 9th and 72nd minutes, while Etisalat’s two goals were scored by Karrar Hameed from a penalty kick in the 16th minute and in the 82nd minute.
