A collision between a passenger vehicle and a Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) streetcar derailed the streetcar in the downtown core early Sunday morning. The incident occurred just after 5:30 a.m. at the intersection of Bay Street and Richmond Street West.
Streetcar Derailment Disrupts Downtown Traffic
Police responded to the scene and closed roads in the area for several hours. The roads reopened around 9 a.m.
No injuries were reported as a result of the collision.
The closure caused detours on the 501 streetcar and 19 bus routes. Regular service has since resumed on both routes.
