Authorities responded to reports of a shooting at Temple Israel around 7:30 p.m. EDT. The suspect, whose identity has not been officially released, drove a vehicle into the building before opening fire. Police returned fire, and the suspect was later found dead inside the temple.

No injuries were reported among the congregation or law enforcement personnel. A bar mitzvah was underway at the time of the attack, and approximately 25 children were present, but were safely evacuated.
