Despite the intensity of the engagement, Centcom maintains that the strait remains open to maritime traffic.

The conflict has expanded geographically, with reports of Iranian-linked activity across several neighboring nations. The Kuwaiti military reported on Wednesday morning that it was actively engaging drone attacks originating from Iran. Similar defensive actions were confirmed by authorities in Jordan and Bahrain, both of which announced they had intercepted incoming drones and missiles.
Casualties and Domestic Impact
Public scrutiny regarding the toll of the conflict has intensified, particularly after reports suggested the Pentagon had not disclosed numerous injuries among U.S. personnel. In response to these claims, Pentagon spokesperson Sean Parnell stated that nearly 100 American soldiers have suffered injuries since July 7. The majority of these cases were described as mild concussions, with Parnell noting that 96 percent of the injured service members have already returned to duty.
