Businessman Ze Nxumalo, husband of former Miss South Africa Tamaryn Green, has been implicated in allegations of pressuring police to arrest celebrity blogger Musa Khawula. The accusations surfaced during testimony at the ongoing Madlanga Commission.

On Monday, March 16, South African Police Service Sergeant Fannie Nkosi testified that he was pressured to arrest Khawula, who had previously sued Nxumalo for defamation. Nkosi, of the Gauteng Organised Crime Unit, stated he was contacted by Nxumalo regarding the blogger.
WhatsApp messages revealed communication between Nxumalo and the policeman, with Nxumalo seeking information to locate Khawula. Nkosi admitted to sharing sensitive information with Nxumalo, raising concerns about the potential compromise of confidential intelligence related to criminal investigations.
Khawula was arrested last year after tweeting about Nxumalo, accusing him of infidelity while his wife, Tamaryn Green, was pregnant. He also faced scrutiny for posts concerning the wife of ANC secretary-general Fikile Mbalula.
Khawula has been charged with crimen injuria, violating the Cybercrimes Act, and contempt of court, and remains in custody facing multiple criminal cases.
