The United Arab Emirates said Wednesday its air defense forces intercepted 13 ballistic missiles and 27 drones launched from Iran. The attacks have resulted in both fatalities and injuries to personnel and civilians of multiple nationalities.
UAE Intercepts Missiles and Drones from Iran
Since the start of the conflict, the UAE defense ministry stated its air defenses have intercepted a total of 1,699 drones, 327 ballistic missiles, and 15 cruise missiles.
Two UAE armed forces personnel have been killed performing their national duty as a result of the attacks. Six civilians – from Pakistan, Nepal, Bangladesh, and Palestine – also died.
In addition, 158 people of various nationalities sustained injuries ranging from minor to severe. Those injured include citizens of the UAE, Egypt, Sudan, Ethiopia, the Philippines, Pakistan, Iran, India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Azerbaijan, Yemen, Uganda, Eritrea, Lebanon, Afghanistan, Bahrain, Comoros, Turkey, Iraq, Nigeria, Oman, Jordan, Palestine, Ghana, Indonesia, Sweden, and Tunisia.
