The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) seized a strategic ridge in southern Lebanon moments before a ceasefire took effect Thursday night, ensuring a continued operational presence in the region as part of ongoing IDF operations in southern Lebanon.
Strategic Capture of Christophani Ridge
Soldiers from an elite unit were parachuted into the “Christophani Ridge” to secure the position. The operation was approved by the IDF Chief of the General Staff and led by the Commander of the Israeli Air Force and the Commander of the Northern Command.
The military stated it remains on high alert. Forces will continue to remove threats in the area between the Israeli border and the designated line, in accordance with the ceasefire understanding.
Engagement in Southern Gaza
In a separate incident on Friday, soldiers from the Negev Battalion stationed in the southern Gaza Strip killed a terrorist who crossed the “yellow line.” The military reported that the individual posed an immediate threat to the forces and was eliminated upon identification.
No casualties were reported by the military following the encounter.
