Lesotho and Drakensberg Snowfall Forecast
A cut-off low is expected to impact the region this week. This weather system is projected to bring significant rainfall, reaching up to 100mm, to the central interior later in the week.
Data indicates that snow will fall at Afriski Mountain Resort. Snow is also possible at the top of Sani Pass, as well as on the A1 and other roads through the high-elevations of Lesotho.
Travelers should be aware of potential driving challenges in various parts of Lesotho starting Thursday and continuing into Friday.
In South Africa, no low-level snow is currently indicated. However, snowfall remains possible on high mountain passes in the Eastern Cape, specifically around Tiffindell Ski Resort.
Forecast models indicate these possibilities, though actual outcomes may vary. Snowfall may reduce, vanish, or shift in timing across the indicated areas.
