With a fully topped-up battery displaying a range of 500 km on the MID, the SUV provided a driving experience described as buttery smooth, silent, and effortless. The Hindu, in a review dated July 14, 2026, characterized the model as a premium electric SUV that offers effortless performance, excellent ride quality, and durability, calling it perhaps the most impressive addition to the EV segment.

While the Sierra.ev hits the roads, Tata Motors is already moving forward with its next major project: the Avinya X. Spy shots taken in Maharashtra show a heavily camouflaged prototype bearing an MH number plate. As reported by News18 on July 20, 2026, the vehicle features a coupe-style silhouette, a sloping roofline, and distinct LED lighting elements. The prototype, which serves as the first real-life glimpse of the Avinya X BEV, also exhibits flush-fitting pop-out door handles and a boxy silhouette, according to CarWale.

The Avinya X is positioned as a new sub-brand for the ultra-premium space. While the Avinya concept was first showcased in 2022, the current test mule indicates that the project is now in the physical testing phase. The steering wheel of the model has also been patented, featuring a design that hints at minimalism, potentially establishing a new standard for the brand’s flagship vehicles, though the presence of buttons for basic controls is expected.

Diversification and Internal Combustion Engine Developments

Tata Motors is also expanding the Sierra lineup beyond its electric iteration. A recent prototype spied testing on the road featured a visible exhaust, hinting at the development of a Sierra All-Wheel Drive (AWD) variant. The brand has already confirmed that the Sierra will be launched with an All-Wheel Drive configuration along with a CNG fuel type. This development follows the initial launch of the Sierra in November 2025.

Furthermore, the Tata Curvv, which was launched by Tata Motors in August 2024, is currently the subject of fresh testing. Sightings of camouflaged test models have led to speculation that the company may soon launch CNG or flex-fuel variants of the Curvv. These efforts align with the Indian government’s emphasis on ethanol-blending, specifically regarding E85 flex-fuel automobiles. In addition to the Curvv, test models of the Tata Altroz and Tata Punch have also been observed undergoing trials, as the manufacturer continues to broaden its portfolio across multiple fuel types.
