South African exporters returning from the Feira Internacional de Angola held in Luanda have secured a robust pipeline of trade leads and partnership opportunities.
Exporters Secure Promising Leads at Luanda Exhibition
South African businesses participating in the largest international business and multi-sector exhibition in Angola are returning home with a strong pipeline of promising trade leads. The delegation showcased proudly South African products and services at the Feira Internacional de Angola, held in Luanda from 21 to 26 July 2026, with support from the Department of Trade, Industry and Competition.
Exporters representing the agro-processing, steel and metal fabrication, engineering, mining, and chemical sectors made significant headway during the multi-day event.
Gateway to Wider Regional Markets Across Africa
For participating business owners, the exhibition offered an entry point not only into the local economy but also into neighboring jurisdictions. Malcolm Green, owner of La RicMal Wines, reported receiving positive responses from importers and distributors who praised the quality, pricing, and packaging of his goods.
“There are also businesses operating in Angola that serve markets beyond the country’s borders, including neighbouring countries such as the Democratic Republic of Congo, Zambia and Namibia, who showed interest in doing business with us. This creates an opportunity for our products to enter Angola and subsequently move into other regional markets. FILDA has grown, and there is a clear appetite among the international business community to invest in Africa. I see Angola as a gateway, with FILDA serving as an important conduit for South African businesses seeking to access other African markets.”

Other industrial exhibitors reported similar momentum. Johannesburg-based steel fabrication firm InfraPower Engineering engaged with potential clients and collaborators from Angola, Zimbabwe, India, and other countries represented at the exhibition.
“The exhibition generated strong interest in our products, with visitors making inquiries and requesting pricing on some of the offerings. We are pleased that we participated and look forward to engaging further with the clients and potential clients we have met.”

Infrastructure, Mining, and Consumer Goods Expansion
Firms specializing in heavy industry and consumer brands utilized the exhibition to establish formal structures with local partners. Lizwile Engineering targeted strategic partnerships with a focus on supporting Angola’s infrastructure, mining, energy, and oil and gas sectors. Executive Director Nomagugu Mvelase noted that the company established relationships with several local firms while pursuing broader continental opportunities in Ghana, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Namibia, and Kenya.

Similarly, TLT-Turbo Africa directed its efforts toward Angola’s growing oil, gas, and mining sectors, specifically targeting refinery upgrades and underground mining operations. Vusi Madlopha, Director of Sales and Marketing, emphasized the value of engaging directly with local markets to understand regional business environments and establish structures with local agents to exploit commercial opportunities.
In the consumer sector, Eastern Cape-based Analit Africa Consumer Brands explored expanding its in-house food brands and organic premium skincare lines into the Angolan market. Founder and Brand Development Executive Lungisa Lutshaba stated that the participation opened significant opportunities for distribution and investment, including discussions with representatives from a major bank who requested a business plan alongside interest from major retailers and packaging companies.
