Moscow Oblast Governor Andrey Vorobyov confirmed that a Ukrainian drone attack targeted Chekhov and reported that a residential building was struck. He stated that tires were set ablaze in an open area due to fallen drone debris and that a home in the nearby village of Vaulovo caught fire. Additionally, a third-party logistics warehouse serving several Russian companies in the village of Koledino, located 20 kilometers (12 miles) south of Moscow, caught fire during the attack, according to the Telegram channel Supernova Plus.

In occupied Crimea, Ukraine’s Unmanned Systems Forces (USF) struck 18 more electrical substations in Russian-occupied territories between July 25 and 27 as part of Operation Crimean Switch Off, with 14 of those hits occurring in Crimea. Robert “Madyar” Brovdi, commander of the Unmanned Systems Forces, announced on Facebook that a total of 154 energy infrastructure targets were struck between July 1 and 27.

Among the specific facilities hit in Crimea during the three-day window were the 330 kV Simferopolska substation and the 220 kV Bakhchysarai substation, which was struck twice. Earlier in the night, an electric substation in the occupied city of Feodosia in southeastern Crimea was also hit, leaving much of the city without power, according to the pro-Ukrainian Telegram channel Crimean Wind. Outside of Crimea, the USF targeted substations in Honcharivka in the Luhansk region, Tavrychanka and Tavriia in the Kherson region, and Novyi Svit in the Donetsk region.

Wider Regional Impact and Strains on Crimea’s Grid

The campaign against energy and logistics infrastructure has severely disrupted the peninsula, where roughly 70% of Crimea’s 2.5 million residents have experienced power outages, and many have gone several consecutive days without electricity or running water. Nighttime illumination across Crimea plunged to a fraction of normal levels following months of strikes, including a previous hit on the Balaklava thermal power plant, which accounted for up to a third of the peninsula’s power generation.

Sergei Aksyonov, the Russian-installed head of Crimea, acknowledged that some communities had gone without power for nearly two weeks. Kremlin-installed authorities previously declared a state of emergency and temporarily banned sales to private motorists to preserve fuel supplies for the military and emergency services. Meanwhile, monitoring channels and authorities reported broader regional strikes, noting that 12 people were injured in Belgorod where a residential building and 15 parked cars were set ablaze, while Rostov Oblast Governor Yuri Slyusar reported two people killed and five injured in Rostov-on-Don following warehouse and home fires.
