Attacks on Austin Theory and Former Partners

Waller described the last two years of his career as an absolute embarrassment, claiming he spent a year carrying 240 pounds of idiot on his back to make his former A-Town Down Under partner, current WWE World Tag Team Champion Austin Theory, relevant again. Waller likened Theory to Marty Jannetty and asserted that Theory remains allergic to the microphone, as reported by NoDQ.com.

Waller also referenced his time paired with The New Day, consisting of Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods. He stated that while he was dressed for a funeral during that period, the only thing actually dying was his own career, according to Fightful. Sports Illustrated reports that Waller viewed the trio’s role as being relegated to a commercial break comedy act.

Challenges to Cruz Montana and Tony D’Angelo

The “Arrogant Aussie” directed his attention toward the NXT Championship, specifically targeting newcomer Cruz Montana, formerly known as Mike Santana. While Waller admitted he liked Montana’s new name, he mocked Montana’s history as a former TNA World Champion. Waller stated, It ain’t 2005, lad. Being the top guy in TNA is like being the best basketball player at the local YMCA, I’m not impressed, according to NoDQ.com. He further claimed that a “shiny new toy” would arrive in six weeks, causing everyone to forget about Montana.

Waller also took aim at NXT Champion Tony D’Angelo, stating he intended to send D’Angelo home to his ugly newborn baby, according to Slam Wrestling.

Additionally, Waller praised the in-ring abilities of independent wrestlers but criticized them for becoming “charisma vacuums” when using a microphone. Defiance of Authority

The promo was interrupted by a production assistant and a ringside producer who informed Waller that NXT overseer Shawn Michaels wanted him to wrap up. Waller responded by telling Michaels to start tuning up the band if he had an issue with the speech, according to Sports Illustrated. Although his microphone was eventually cut off, Waller continued speaking directly into a camera and to the crowd before exiting the ring. Following the segment, General Manager Stone was reported to be on the phone demanding that Waller return to the arena, according to Slam Wrestling.
