Kia Launches Syros EV in India Starting at Rs 7.99 Lakh

The electric SUV is available with ex-showroom prices ranging from ₹13.49 lakh to ₹19.99 lakh for the top-spec X-Line ER variant.

To lower the entry cost, Kia is offering the vehicle under a Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) programme with prices starting at ₹7.99 lakh, with the battery financed separately via an EMI of ₹3.3 per km. Deliveries for the model are scheduled to begin on July 30.

Performance and Battery Specifications

Built on a reinforced K1 platform, the Syros EV offers two battery options. A 42 kWh pack provides an ARAI-certified MIDC full-cycle range of 443 km. A larger 51.4 kWh pack is rated at 526 km, making it the first model in its segment to exceed the 500 km certified range mark. This larger battery supports a single electric motor producing 171 PS (approximately 169 bhp), allowing the SUV to reach 0-100 km/h in 8.1 seconds.

Charging capabilities include a 10.8 kW onboard AC charger and 100 kW DC fast charging, which can charge the battery from 10% to 80% in 39 minutes.

Features and Safety

The Syros EV incorporates EV-specific styling such as Ice Cube LED headlamps, Star Map LED DRLs and tail-lamps, a closed-off Digital Tiger Face, 17-inch dual-tone aero alloy wheels, and flush-fitting door handles. The interior is highlighted by a 30-inch panoramic display that combines a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and a 5-inch climate control interface.

Additional interior features include a dual-pane panoramic sunroof, ventilated front and rear seats, an eight-speaker Harman Kardon audio system, a 16-litre frunk, and Level 2 ADAS with 16 autonomous functions. Safety equipment consists of six airbags, electronic stability control, a tyre pressure monitoring system, and a blind view monitor.

Ownership and Pricing

Kia is providing the first owner with a 15-year, unlimited-kilometre high-voltage battery warranty and an assured buyback programme offering up to 80% resale value after three years. Owners also have access to the K-Charge network, which contains more than 20,300 charging points.
