MINI India has launched the MINI Convertible Stardust Edition, a limited-run open-top luxury car priced at INR 62.90 lakh (ex-showroom). Imported as a Completely Built-up Unit (CBU), the vehicle features unique twilight-inspired aesthetics and a signature Union Jack soft top, with deliveries commencing immediately following the launch.
The luxury segment in India just got a bit more shimmering. The MINI Convertible Stardust Edition arrives not as a mechanical overhaul, but as a curated aesthetic exercise. It is a limited-quantity play that leverages the brand’s heritage while pushing a specific, twilight-inspired
visual identity.
From a financial perspective, the premium for exclusivity is clear. For the buyer, that extra cost buys a specific set of visual markers and the prestige of a limited run.
Sparkling Copper Grey and the Union Jack Soft Top
The defining characteristic of this edition is its bespoke color palette. The exterior is finished in Sparkling Copper Grey metallic paint, complemented by Vibrant Silver accents on the mirror caps and 18-inch JCW Rallye Spoke alloy wheels.
The roof remains the centerpiece of the driving experience. The premium black soft top features the signature woven Union Jack graphic. The operation of the roof is handled electrically, though it requires the driver to maintain a specific speed to function fully.
- Full Open: 18 seconds (at speeds up to 30 km/h)
- Full Close: 15 seconds
- Sunroof Mode: Can be partially opened up to 40 cm at any speed
This versatility affects the car’s utility. When the roof is open, the luggage capacity drops to 160 liters; once closed, the boot space expands to 215 liters.
MINI Operating System 9 and the Sustainable Cabin
Inside, the Stardust Edition moves away from traditional luxury materials toward sustainable alternatives. The cabin is fitted with Sports Seats in Black using Vescin, a perforated, leather-free material made from recycled components. The driver is further supported by an Active Seat.

The tech stack is centered on the MINI Interaction Unit, which features a round, high-resolution OLED touchscreen.
To personalize the atmosphere, the car includes Experience Modes
—such as Go-Kart Mode, Green Mode, and Vivid Mode—which allow the driver to alter the interior light, sound, and graphics. The audio experience is handled by a Harman Kardon Surround Sound System, while a Head-up Display and MINI Digital Key Plus round out the cockpit’s electronics.
2.0-Liter TwinPower Turbo Performance
Under the hood, the Stardust Edition maintains the standard powertrain. There are no mechanical changes to the engine or transmission. However, the numbers remain competitive for the luxury convertible segment.

CBU Import and Financial Packages
Because this is a Completely Built-up Unit (CBU), the car is imported in its finished form. To manage the cost of ownership, MINI India is offering a standard 2-year warranty with unlimited kilometers and 2 years of 24×7 Road-Side Assistance.
For those looking at the long-term financial commitment, service packages can be extended up to 10 years or 100,000 km. Financing is provided through BMW India Financial Services via the MINI 360° plan, which includes flexible installment structures and buy-back options for up to five years.
Prospective buyers cannot walk into a dealership to reserve one of these units through traditional means; bookings are handled exclusively online via the official MINI India website.
