Potrero Empleos to Launch Argentina’s First Virtual Tech Employment Fair

Potrero Empleos is launching Argentina’s first Virtual Tech Employment Fair from August 3 to 7, 2026. The free event aims to connect IT professionals with over 25 confirmed companies, municipalities, and organizations, offering more than 100 job opportunities to candidates across all Argentine provinces.

The gap between technical training and actual payrolls is often a matter of geography and social barriers. For many in Argentina, the knowledge economy feels like a walled garden accessible only to those in major urban hubs. The upcoming Virtual Tech Employment Fair, organized by Potrero Empleos—the employability arm of Fundación Compromiso’s EdTech, Potrero Digital—is designed to dismantle those walls.

By moving the entire recruitment process online, the initiative creates a federal reach, allowing residents of any province to apply for roles without the friction of physical relocation or socioeconomic hurdles. According to Infobae, the event isn’t just a networking week; the goal is to translate these initial connections into actual hires in the months following the August 7 closing date.

Potrero Digital’s Infrastructure and Talent Pool

The fair doesn’t start from zero. Currently, more than 500 talents are in active search of IT employment, providing a concentrated pipeline for the more than 25 companies already confirmed to participate. The platform will be active throughout the five-day event, facilitating access to over 100 job openings.

The scope of the talent pool is intentionally broad. The fair targets a full spectrum of experience levels, including trainee, junior, semi-senior, and senior profiles. Crucially, it also opens doors for professionals undergoing labor reconversion. This inclusivity extends to a wide array of technical specializations, from programming and web development to cloud architecture, AI, data analysis, and QA.

Virtual Stands and Technical Challenges

For the participating organizations, the fair is more than a job board. Companies will utilize virtual stands to showcase institutional information, available positions, and application links. They also gain direct access to a database of registered candidate CVs. To move beyond the static resume, the event integrates active engagement tools, such as 30-minute talks and practical interview sessions.

The technical vetting process is also integrated into the fair’s structure. Potrero Empleos is co-organizing technical challenges to help companies identify the right skills in real-time.

  • Development and Product: React, Node, SQL, and Agile methodologies.
  • Data and AI: Python, Power BI, and AI architecture.
  • Infrastructure and Cloud: AWS, DevOps, and general cloud support.
  • Management: Project Management (PM) and digital business coordination.

Industry Referents and Ecosystem Support

The event is backed by a network of figures from the digital and employability ecosystem. This includes representatives from global tech giants and local institutions, such as Cami Luis of Google and María Laura Álvarez Modernel from AWS, and volunteers from Accenture. Other participants include Pato Jebsen, SofiJobs, Brigitte Bergery, Romina Bruscagin, Candelaria Milano Molina of AWS, Axel Labruna from DevOps Day, and Víctor Maldonado of Banco Galicia.

One notable presence is Laura Perez Bosio, an AI and cloud architect who is also a graduate of Potrero Digital, serving as a tangible example of the path from the program’s training to professional success.

Corporate Value and Social Equity

While the primary goal is employment, there is a strategic brand play for the companies involved. By participating in a free, virtual event with a federal reach, organizations can position themselves as entities committed to diversity, inclusion, and social equity. According to Gabriela Molignano, the benefit for companies lies in accessing qualified talent while demonstrating a commitment to populations in vulnerable areas or those far from urban centers.

The ultimate metric of success for Potrero Digital will not be the number of clicks or registrations during the first week of August, but the volume of real contracts signed after the event. To ensure this, the organization has committed to candidate follow-ups and ongoing support for the participating companies.
