FAW-Volkswagen Opens Pre-Orders for ID. Aura T6 Electric Crossover

The joint venture FAW-Volkswagen officially kicked off blind pre-orders for its newest electric crossover in China, establishing a battery-powered counterpart to the Tiguan family named the ID. Aura T6. According to reporting from CarNewsChina, the vehicle is built upon the advanced CEA electronic architecture and integrates a comprehensive driver assistance setup developed by Cariad and Horizon Robotics.

Dimensions, Exterior Styling, and Powertrain Specifications

The ID. Aura T6 measures 4811 mm in length, 1879 mm in width, and 1648 mm in height, riding on a 2836 mm wheelbase. FAW-Volkswagen designed the aerodynamic body to achieve a drag coefficient of 0,245. Buyers will have a choice of six exterior paint colors and either 19-inch or 20-inch wheels.

The front end features a continuous light strip paired with an illuminated brand logo. Beneath the hood, the vehicle incorporates a 90-liter front trunk. Power comes from a single electric motor delivering 170 kW, which translates to 228 horsepower, paired with a lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery pack.

Digital Cabin Features and In-Car Technology

Inside the cabin, the digital interface centers on a 10.25-inch instrument cluster, a large 15.6-inch central display, and an expansive 25.8-inch augmented reality head-up display system. Processing power is supplied by a 4-nanometer chip operating at roughly 20 TOPS, alongside a dedicated module dedicated to handling AI assistant operations.

Standard equipment specifications include over-the-air software updates, remote control functionality, and a Sentry Mode. The infotainment system supports more than 23 pre-installed applications alongside wireless integration for CarPlay, HiCar, and Carlink. Passengers can also utilize a wireless phone charging pad and an 18-speaker Dolby Atmos audio system. For comfort, the front passenger seat features 12 power adjustments accompanied by heating, ventilation, and massage functions.

Autonomous Driving Systems and Driver Assistance

This hardware runs the Carizon driving assistance suite, which supports Highway NOA for highway cruising as well as Urban Pilot functions designed to navigate complex city streets.
