Between January and June 2026, the Maruti Suzuki Dzire secured the number-one rank across the country, according to figures published in sales reports. The sedan recorded total sales of 126,204 units during this six-month window, outpacing all competing nameplates in the domestic market.
Maruti Suzuki maintained a commanding presence across the broader top-ten chart, placing six distinct models on the list. Behind the leading Dzire, the manufacturer’s lineup included the Ertiga, WagonR, Swift, Baleno, and Fronx. This distribution underscored the company’s stronghold across multiple vehicle segments, from compact hatchbacks to multi-purpose vehicles.
Tata Motors and Other Contenders Secure Top-Ten Positions
While Maruti dominated the volume counts, Tata Motors established a firm grip on the upper tier of the standings. The Tata Punch finished the first half of the year as the second best-selling vehicle in India with 119,303 units sold. Close behind, its stablemate the Tata Nexon claimed the third spot by registering 118,166 units.
