The upcoming refresh of the Maruti Suzuki Brezza is generating substantial attention ahead of its scheduled July 24 market entry.
Design Tweaks and Exterior Styling Changes
On the surface, the updated Brezza maintains its familiar overall silhouette while introducing targeted aesthetic refinements to its exterior profile. Observers comparing early glimpses note that the front grille now features a distinctive golden finish, flanked by square-shaped projector headlamps and a revised daytime running light layout. Beneath these elements, a wider silver skid plate spans the front bumper.
Along the sides, fresh alloy wheel designs distinguish the newer iteration, while the rear profile receives a reworked bumper and updated tail lamps. Taken together, these adjustments give the vehicle a more premium presentation without abandoning its core design language.
Cabin Upgrades and New Technology Features
The most substantial transformations occur inside the cabin, where leaked images and video material point to a thorough reimagining of the dashboard and center console. Higher trim levels are expected to replace the existing 9.0-inch SmartPlay Pro+ interface with a larger 10.1-inch SmartPlay Pro X touchscreen system, complete with built-in applications and Alexa integration.
Among the comfort additions, the introduction of ventilated front seats stands out as a practical addition for warm weather driving. Additional cabin enhancements comprise a redesigned center console, an adjustable steering wheel, an automatic air purifier, an analog-digital instrument cluster, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, a 360-degree camera, and wireless smartphone charging pads.
Mechanical Upgrades and the New Six-Speed Manual Gearbox
Beyond cosmetic adjustments, mechanical developments point to significant powertrain updates. Testing footage revealed an interior gear lever following a six-speed manual shift pattern, marking a notable departure from Maruti’s traditional reliance on five-speed manual transmissions across its domestic lineup.
Historically, Maruti models paired engines ranging from the 1.0-litre K10 to the 1.5-litre K15 with five-speed gearboxes, while automatics utilized AMTs, four-speed torque converters, or six-speed units. The addition of a six-speed manual transmission is expected to enhance both highway efficiency and overall vehicle performance.
Alongside the conventional petrol variants, earlier prototypes indicate that the Brezza will incorporate Maruti’s new underfloor S-CNG layout—initially introduced on the Victoris—which relocates the compressed natural gas tank beneath the floor to improve cargo practicality.
