Pokémon Pokopia Version 2.0.0 Adds Dive Move and Bubbly Basin DLC

Pokémon Pokopia launched version 2.0.0 on August 4, 2026, for the Switch 2, introducing a free software update and the first paid DLC installment, Expansion Pass Part 1: Bubbly Basin. The update adds the Dive move and underwater building capabilities to the cozy life simulation game.

Bubbly Basin and Underwater Mechanics

The Expansion Pass Part 1: Bubbly Basin introduces a submerged town where players can utilize buoyant blocks to create floating buildings at varying levels. This new aquatic zone allows for the cultivation of watermelons with the help of Pokémon possessing the Water specialty, while those with the Generate specialty can activate streetlights and power bubble machines.

Exploration extends beyond the town limits. Players can traverse a hole in the sea floor to reach a dark deep-sea area, following glowing coral to navigate the depths. For those seeking a more private sanctuary, the DLC allows for the construction of a Sharpedo submarine to serve as a Secret Base room.

  • New Consumables: The update introduces smoothies as a new prepared food.
  • Ability Upgrades: A power-up for the move Surf is now available.
  • Customization: New outfits are discoverable within the Bubbly Basin region.

Version 2.0.0 Free Update Features

Even players who forgo the paid expansion receive significant upgrades via the version 2.0.0 patch. The most critical addition is the move Dive, which can be learned from Manaphy. This move allows players to move freely underwater and enables the Build specialty to be used for constructing houses beneath the surface.

The update also targets inventory management and player expression. New items including the portal pod and safe now permit the storage of items between different towns. Additionally, players can choose from five new hair colors: blue-green, yellow-green, light pink, orange, and brown.

Quality-of-Life and System Improvements

Bulk item movement between bags and storage boxes is now supported, and players can fine-tune the depth placement of doors and windows. For those prone to motion sickness, the developers added specific camera reduction settings.

Interaction logic has also been refined. Pokémon that taught a player an emote will now respond with that same emote when the player uses it. Furthermore, the Return Home function can now be used to travel directly to another town if the Pokémon being searched for in the Pokédex is located there.
