Mihai Pintilii a dat verdictul despre Gigi Becali la cinci luni după plecarea de la FCSB

The current landscape at FCSB is fraught with tension. Despite sitting atop the domestic standings with seven points after the opening three matches, the club is dealing with the fallout of an early exit from European competition and renewed friction between club leadership and the bench.

European Exit and Domestic Turbulence Under Marius Baciu

FCSB entered the European stage at the start of the campaign with high expectations, only to suffer a comprehensive elimination in the second preliminary round of the UEFA Europa Conference League.

Domestically, the team under Marius Baciu has shown mixed form. After recording wins over FC Argeș and Csikszereda alongside a 2-2 draw against Farul Constanța, the squad finds itself occupying the top spot in the league table with seven points. Yet, the manner of the recent draw against Farul—where FCSB surrendered a two-goal lead and missed a penalty on home soil—prompted sharp public criticism from the club’s owner regarding both player execution and tactical control.

Gigi Becali Floats Club Sale and Cites Technological Gap

Frustrated by the team’s trajectory, Becali spoke candidly with PrimaSport following the draw with Farul, admitting that he feels disconnected from the digital shifts shaping modern soccer management. The owner suggested that if he cannot steer the club back to dominant form, he is prepared to part ways with the organization entirely within the next couple of years.

Gigi Becali stated via PrimaSport that the world has advanced while he has fallen behind with technology, noting that he thinks about it and perhaps is a bit backward in that regard without even wanting to modernize. He added that he will stay another year or maybe two, sell the team, and be done with it, explaining that nowadays, to bring in players, one must be advanced with technology and information. He mentioned that he put his trust in MM to see now whether he did well or not, and that MM can get upset since he is his friend, but there is nothing he can do, concluding that he will sell the team and that is it if he sees things are not working.

Sharp Warnings From Victor Pițurcă and Former Staff

External observers and former insiders have not hesitated to weigh in on the turbulent atmosphere at the club. Former Romania national team manager Victor Pițurcă delivered a blunt assessment of the European exit, pointing directly to ownership interference as the primary obstacle to sustainable success.

Meanwhile, former assistant coach Mihai Pintilii offered a contrasting perspective on what it is like inside the organization during successful stretches versus difficult moments. Having departed the club alongside Elias Charalambous before taking up a role at Levadiakos, Pintilii noted that working under the owner is straightforward when results are positive, but substantially more challenging when form dips.

Driver’s License Suspension Adds to a Busy Period for Becali

Outside of football operations, Becali faced legal and administrative friction on public roadways. Capital police officers from the Traffic Brigade intercepted his vehicle on Șoseaua Pipera traveling at 109 kilometers per hour in a zone restricted to 40 kilometers per hour. Operating without physical legal documents on his person at the time, the 67-year-old owner received a fine and a 90-day license suspension.

Mihai Pintilii a spus-o direct despre jucătorii FCSB-ului, după umilința din Conference League

Defending his actions in an interview with GSP.ro, Becali argued that the timing of the traffic stop at four in the morning on an empty four-lane road was unfair and stated his intention to contest the penalty in court, adding that he would rely on a designated driver moving forward.
