Dolly Parton’s estate has filed for a restraining order against her nephew and former head of security, Bryan Seaver, alleging an escalating campaign of threats, coercion, and extortion. The legal action follows Seaver’s firing on September 15, nearly a month after the country music icon died at age 80.
The estate management company She’s Alive, LLC, filed court documents in Tennessee following the dismissal of Bryan Seaver from his long-held security post. Seaver, who served as Parton’s head of security for more than two decades in a role previously held by his late father Larry Seaver, was the family member handpicked to announce his aunt’s death in an August 25 video message.
Relations between the estate and the veteran security chief quickly fractured in the weeks following the singer’s passing.
Escalating Threats and Military-Style Demands
Legal paperwork submitted to a Tennessee court details a series of volatile communications sent by Seaver both before and after his aunt’s death. Court documents outline how Seaver allegedly invoked his self-proclaimed military-contractor experience, access to weapons, and capacity for violence while demanding financial payouts from the estate.
“All I do is warfare . . . Everyone needs to be worried about what I might do . . . I am vengeance for my people for the next 50 years. I have no debt. I only own swords and guns. My children have 3 houses to live in forever. My wife owns everything. All I have is animosity and memory. But I’m going to spend the next times I have on earth ratfucking anyone that has ever betrayed my family.”

The fallout from the alleged intimidation has disrupted estate operations. According to the court filings, Parton’s trusts and estates attorney stopped working for her as a result of the ominous language, and multiple employees of She’s Alive resigned. The management entity was forced to hire private security for its personnel, including guards stationed at their homes.
The Restraining Order and Legal Restrictions
To curb the alleged harassment, management filed for emergency judicial intervention. A temporary restraining order was granted on September 22. The order prohibits Seaver from coming within 1,000 feet of Parton’s offices in Nashville, Tennessee, and bans him from contacting She’s Alive employees, attorneys, or business partners, or otherwise interfering with the estate’s operations.
The friction underscores deeper administrative shifts surrounding the late icon’s empire. Reports indicate that the directive to replace Seaver and his security companies—Squadron Augmented Protection Services—was issued jointly by Danny Nozell and Pinnacle Bank, which took over administrative and operational management following the singer’s death.
Seaver Denies Wrongdoing and Claims Context Was Ignored
Seaver has pushed back against the lawsuit, asserting that his statements were misinterpreted and stripped of their proper setting.
