/ US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken arrived at dawn on Thursday in Tel Aviv, where he is expected to meet with Israeli leaders to discuss “extending the temporary truce and enhancing humanitarian aid” to the Gaza Strip.

According to Reuters, a Palestinian official said that Blinken, who is making his third visit to the region since the October 7 Hamas attack on Israel, is expected to visit the occupied West Bank, where he is likely to meet Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.

Hebrew sources said, “The Israeli War Cabinet has begun fateful discussions regarding the truce agreement in the Gaza Strip, and there is a possibility that fighting will resume Thursday morning.”

It is worth noting that the temporary humanitarian truce between Hamas and the Israeli government ends Thursday morning at exactly seven in the morning local time, and earlier, the State of Qatar expressed its “optimism” about re-extending the truce again.

Despite the international consensus to extend the temporary truce, the details are still vague about the fate of its extension, while the French news agency quoted a source in the Hamas movement on Wednesday evening as saying that what has been proposed to extend the temporary truce in the Gaza Strip is “not the best” at this stage.

Hamas leader Bassem Naim confirmed on Wednesday that the movement is ready to release all the Israeli soldiers it is holding in the Gaza Strip in exchange for Israel releasing all Palestinian prisoners, with negotiations continuing to extend the temporary truce hours before its end.
