Michael O’Keeffe, a retired Physics and Chemistry Lecturer at South East Technological University (SETU) and former Met Office employee, has died peacefully on January 24th. He was formerly of Griffith’s Place, Waterford, and resided at Pinehurst, Glenville, Dunmore Road.
Obituary
O’Keeffe was predeceased by his mother Bridie, father John, brothers Charlie and Anthony, sister-in-law Margaret, and niece Brigid.
He is survived by his loving nieces Fiona, Bernice, and Charlotte, and nephews John Paul, Colin, Michael, Anthony, Alan, and Andrew. He is also remembered by his sister and brother-in-law, Caroline and Noel, as well as gran-nieces and nephews Rachael, Vanessa, Sarah, Grace, Holly Jane, Rosie, Daniel, Danny, Charlie, and Lily.
He will be deeply missed by extended family, cousins, neighbours, and friends, particularly his dear friend Angela.
Funeral Arrangements
Reposing will take place at Tom Hennessy’s Funeral Home, Johnstown, Waterford (X91 FW4A) on Tuesday, January 27th, from 5pm to 7pm.
Requiem Mass will be held in St. Joseph & Benildus Church, Newtown, on Wednesday, January 28th, at 10:30am, followed by burial in St. Killian’s Cemetery, Ferrybank.

The family has requested that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to South East Palliative Care via https://waterfordhospice.ie/donate/.
The family also expressed their gratitude to the staff of the Pine Ward, University Hospital, Waterford, for the exceptional care provided to Michael.
