A man and a woman have been arrested in connection with the movements of Dezi Freeman, the man who murdered two police officers and was recently shot dead after a seven-month manhunt.
Dezi Freeman Investigation Leads to Arrests
Victoria Police arrested the pair at two properties in the state’s northeast on Saturday morning. Detectives from Taskforce Summit made the arrests as part of their ongoing investigation into Desmond Freeman’s activities.
Police have confirmed that the arrested individuals are not related to Freeman. They are currently being interviewed.
The 56-year-old fugitive was killed in a shootout with specialist police on Monday at a remote property in Thologolong, near Walwa on the Victoria-NSW border. Freeman had been wanted for the shooting deaths of Neal Thompson and Vadim de Waart-Hottart, who were serving a warrant at his Porepunkah home in late August.
