A press report revealed the end of coach Fernando Diniz’s journey with the Brazilian national team, after a period of taking over as temporary coach of the Seleção.
According to the Brazilian newspaper Globo, the Football Association decided to relieve Diniz from the position of interim coach, today, Friday.
Ednaldo Rodriguez, President of the Brazilian Football Confederation, made this decision one day after returning to his position by a summary order from the Federal Supreme Court.
The Brazilian Federation assigned the task to Diniz last July for a year, despite him coaching Fluminense, until a permanent coach was hired.
Deniz failed to achieve the desired results during his short period, as the Seleção was defeated in 3 out of 6 matches, tied in one match and won two matches.
According to the same newspaper, Dorival Junior, the Brazilian coach of Sao Paulo, is the most likely candidate to lead the Seleção in the upcoming Copa America tournament.
It is noteworthy that the Brazilian Federation was waiting for Italian coach Carlo Ancelotti to appoint him next July, but the latter decided to extend his contract with Real Madrid.
