Sixteen overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) from Lebanon arrived in Manila on Monday night as part of the government’s ongoing repatriation efforts for distressed OFWs in the Middle East.
OFW Repatriation from Lebanon
The OFWs arrived at 6 p.m. Monday via a Turkish Airlines flight that landed at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3, according to the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW).
This is the second group of OFWs from Lebanon to safely return to the Philippines amid the ongoing Middle East conflict. A total of 26 OFWs from Lebanon have now returned to the country, including the first batch of 10 who arrived on March 10.
DMW Assistant Secretary Ma. Regina Angela Galias and personnel from the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration, along with a medical team, welcomed the returning OFWs upon their arrival in Manila.
