Barcelona coach, Xavi Hernandez, believes that the El Clasico confrontation against traditional rival Real Madrid, in the Spanish Super Cup final, will be equal.
Barcelona reached the Spanish Super Cup final after a 2-0 victory over Osasuna, while Real Madrid overthrew its neighbor Atletico with a thrilling 5-3 victory.
Xavi said in statements after the end of the match: “We had a difficult match. We suffered a lot.”
He added: “We made positive changes and achieved a well-deserved victory, as we created many chances.”
He noted: “We will play a new Clasico against Real Madrid, and we hope to repeat the result of last season.”
Xavi added, “El Clásico is always an equal match, and yesterday we saw how Real Madrid beat Atletico Madrid.”
He concluded, “I hope to win El Clásico and win the Spanish Super Cup next Sunday.”
Barcelona is the holder of the Spanish Super Cup, after winning the final match of the last edition in 2022, with a score of 3-1 over Real Madrid.
