Luis Enrique, coach of Paris Saint-Germain, confirmed that he has nothing to do with the issue of his team’s striker Kylian Mbappe entering the free period in his contract, in light of reports linking the player to a move to Real Madrid next summer.
The Spanish coach explained in a press statement that he would deal with the issue of renewing Mbappe’s contract or not, “as I have always done until now.”
He added, “It does not depend on me. I am not the person who has to answer this question.”
Saint-Germain is preparing to face Toulouse FC this Wednesday evening in the 2023-2024 French Super Cup final.
The Parisian team is seeking to maintain its world title, which it won last year, after it managed to beat Nantes 4-0.
Saint-Germain won 11 French Super Cup titles, while Toulouse had never won the title before, as they were limited to being runner-up once in 1957.
