Indonesia’s National Police declined to confirm or deny reports on Tuesday regarding the alleged detention of several officers, including a four-star general, over unauthorized surveillance targeting the presidential office. Unverified accounts circulating Tuesday claimed that authorities had taken several police personnel to the Mobile Brigade Corps (Brimob) headquarters in Depok, West Java.
However, officials have not verified that any detentions took place, nor have they linked the named personnel to the alleged presidential spying operation. Unverified accounts suggested that at least four officers had allegedly been detained, including one four-star general, two-star generals, and a senior officer holding the rank of chief commissioner.

The National Police have not confirmed whether any officers were taken into custody regarding either allegation, and the force has yet to confirm whether formal legal proceedings have been initiated.
