At least 169 people have been killed across multiple countries since the start of the recent crisis, according to reports from regional authorities and news agencies. Deaths have been reported in Lebanon, Iraq, Israel, the United States, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Kuwait, the West Bank, Syria, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Oman, and France.

Fatalities in Lebanon

Lebanese authorities report 1368 people have been killed in Israeli strikes since March 2, including at least 124 children. More than 400 fighters from Hezbollah have been killed since the Lebanese armed group launched attacks on March 2. At least nine Lebanese soldiers have also been killed in Israeli strikes, primarily in southern Lebanon. Three United Nations peacekeepers from Indonesia were killed in separate incidents in southern Lebanon, one by a roadside explosion and another by a projectile.

Fatalities in Iraq

At least 108 people have been killed in Iraq since the start of the crisis, including civilians, members of the Iran-affiliated Shi’ite Popular Mobilisation Forces, US-allied Kurdish Peshmerga fighters, police, and army personnel. One foreign crew member was killed in an attack on tankers near an Iraqi port.

Fatalities in Israel

Missiles launched from Iran and Lebanon have killed 19 people in Israel, according to Israeli ambulance services. The Israeli military has reported 10 of its soldiers killed in southern Lebanon. Israeli forces also mistakenly killed an Israeli farmer near the border with Lebanon on March 22.

Fatalities in the United States

Thirteen U.S. service members have been killed. Six died after a U.S. military refuelling aircraft crashed in Iraq, while seven others were killed in action during operations against Iran. Twelve U.S. troops were wounded, two seriously, in an Iranian military strike on Prince Sultan Air Base in Saudi Arabia.

Fatalities in the United Arab Emirates

Twelve people have been killed in Iranian attacks in the UAE, including two army soldiers. The latest fatality occurred when debris from an intercepted attack fell on Abu Dhabi’s Habshan gas facilities.

Other Fatalities

In Qatar, seven people were killed on March 22 in a helicopter crash attributed to a technical malfunction. Four were Qatari armed forces personnel, one was a Turkish serviceman, and two were technicians from a Turkish defence manufacturer. Kuwait has reported seven deaths, including three killed in Iranian attacks and two each from its interior ministry and army.

Four Palestinian women were killed in an Iranian missile attack in the Israeli-occupied West Bank. In Syria, four people were killed when an Iranian missile struck a building in Sweida on February 28. Bahrain has reported two deaths in separate Iranian attacks, including a Moroccan civilian contractor. Oman reported two deaths, one in a drone strike on an industrial zone and another when a projectile hit a tanker off its coast. Saudi Arabia has reported two deaths from a projectile strike. Finally, one French soldier was killed and six wounded in a drone attack in northern Iraq.
