/ The head of the Israeli National Security Council, Tzachi Hanegbi, threatened on Saturday to respond militarily to Houthi attacks in Yemen, if measures were not taken against “Ansar Allah.”

Israeli Channel 12 quoted Hanegbi as saying, “Netanyahu informed US President Joe Biden and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz of his intention to move militarily against the Houthis if they do not take any measures against them.”

Earlier today, Saturday, the Houthi “Ansar Allah” group in Yemen announced preventing the passage of ships heading to Israel of any nationality if the food and medicine it needs does not enter the Gaza Strip.

The statement added: “In order to ensure the safety of maritime navigation, we warn all ships and companies against dealing with Israeli ports.”

The Yemeni Ansar Allah group seized the Galaxy Leader ship last November, in response to the Israeli bombing of the Gaza Strip, which claimed the lives of thousands of Palestinians, and took it to a port in western Yemen.

The group vowed to target all types of ships flying the Israeli flag, and those operated or owned by Israeli companies.

Last Sunday, the US Department of Defense, the Pentagon, announced that an American warship and several commercial ships were subjected to attacks in the Red Sea.

On Monday, the White House considered that the attacks on ships in the Red Sea were “supported by Iran,” while the targeting of three ships earlier this week constituted a “threat to international peace and stability.”
