Former Indonesian President Joko Widodo, known as Jokowi, and his wife Iriana will celebrate Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijri in Jakarta. Jokowi plans to perform the Eid prayer at Al-Bina Mosque within the Gelora Bung Karno sporting complex in Central Jakarta.
Jokowi’s Eid Plans
“Bapak-Ibu (Jokowi and Iriana) will perform the prayer at GBK on Saturday, March 21,” Jokowi’s aide, Police Commissioner Syarif Muhammad Fitriansyah, said in a text message on Friday, March 20, 2026.
It remains unconfirmed whether Jokowi will meet with President Prabowo Subianto for a halal bihalal gathering. Jokowi and Iriana arrived in Jakarta on Thursday, March 19, 2026, and will remain in the capital until March 24, 2026.
Jokowi shared on his Instagram account that he intends to spend the holiday with family and grandchildren. “To gather with family, to relieve the longing, especially with grandchildren who always bring joy and new stories,” he wrote.
Last year, Jokowi celebrated Eid in Solo, performing the Eid prayer at a mosque near his home in the Sumber sub-district. He was visited by several figures, including Didit Hediprasetyo Djojohadikusumo, the son of President Prabowo, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia, and Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan.
