High-profile film stars and political figures cast their votes in the 2026 Assembly polls, reflecting significant electoral enthusiasm across various constituencies.

Celebrities Contest the 2026 Assembly Polls

At least eight celebrities, including actors Major Ravi, Ramesh Pisharody, and Anjali Nair, are contesting in the current elections. Minister K B Ganesh Kumar is once again contesting from the Pathanapuram constituency in the Kollam district.

High-Profile Voter Turnout

Actor Mohanlal cast his vote at approximately 7 a.m. at the Mudavanmughal Government School in Thiruvananthapuram. In the Nemom constituency, he was seen interacting with UDF candidate K S Sabarinadhan and LDF candidate V Sivankutty.

Following his vote, Mohanlal took to social media to encourage citizens, writing, “Done my part. Your turn, Keralam go vote.”

In Kochi, star actor Mammootty and his family arrived at Ponnuruni to cast their ballots. Mammootty described the election as a “once-in-five-year opportunity” and urged people to come forward and vote.

Other notable participants included Prithviraj Sukumaran and his wife, Supriya, who voted in Thevara, Kochi. Ahaana Krishnakumar, daughter of former NDA candidate K Krishnakumar, also cast her vote in Thiruvananthapuram with her family.

Actor Perspectives on Governance and Politics

Actor and MLA Mukesh described the election process as more exciting and impactful than a suspense thriller. In contrast, actor Jagadish expressed uncertainty regarding whether he could handle politics as effectively as he handles acting.

Voting in Alappuzha, actor Kunchacko Boban stated that good governance should prevail regardless of which party forms the government. Actor Tovino Thomas, who attended the polling station with his family, noted that he has never missed casting his vote.

Actor Asif Ali cast his vote in Thodupuzha, though he declined to disclose which candidate he supports.
