Kurechii Showcases Postknight World, Abyssfall, and Prism Arcana Updates
Kurechii, an award-winning independent game studio based in Malaysia, recently unveiled new gameplay footage and development milestones during its annual Kurechii Next digital showcase. The event highlighted the studio’s evolving portfolio, featuring progress on the upcoming Postknight World and Abyssfall: Seekers Within, alongside updates to the studio’s ongoing worldbuilding project, Prism Arcana. The studio is currently navigating a strategic transition, moving from a mobile-first development model toward multi-platform accessibility.

Postknight World: Expanding the Cozy RPG Experience
Postknight World is a 2D open-world RPG designed to expand upon the foundations established by Postknight and Postknight 2. The title is positioned as a relaxing, exploration-driven experience set in the world of Prism. During the Kurechii Next showcase, the studio highlighted several refinements made since the game’s 2025 reveal. Key additions include a dynamic day-and-night cycle intended to provide varied moods and atmospheres as players navigate the world. The team has also focused on improving character animations, visuals, and overall world design to create a more immersive environment. Lead QA Engineer Hian described the project’s design philosophy, noting that in an often overwhelming world, Postknight World serves as a space where players can rest and immerse themselves. The studio is currently targeting Alpha Testing for the title in late 2026. Additionally, the studio is working to streamline cross-platform synchronization, aiming to ensure players can maintain progress across both mobile devices and potential desktop iterations.
Abyssfall: Seekers Within and Tactical Combat
Abyssfall: Seekers Within represents a significant shift for Kurechii, marking the studio’s first foray into a new genre as an action roguelite. Unlike the lighter tone of the Postknight series, Abyssfall features a darker, more atmospheric narrative. The game utilizes a grid-based battlefield that dictates combat mechanics. According to Kurechii founder and director Yiwei P’ng, the grid is not merely a visual element; it is a core tactical component that forces players to read the battlefield and make deliberate decisions. The game combines party-based character switching with real-time combat, with the development team currently refining these tactical mechanics.
Prism Arcana: Deepening the World Lore
Prism Arcana serves as the connective tissue for Kurechii’s games, acting as a central project for exploring the lore, history, cultures, and creatures that inhabit the world of Prism.
To increase accessibility to this lore, the studio launched a dedicated YouTube channel titled Prism Arcana Shorts.
This channel features bite-sized adaptations of the studio’s existing The Journey Begins: Worldbuilding Series
videos. In addition to the channel, Kurechii announced an expansion to the Bestiary section of the official Prism Arcana website, providing fans with detailed information about the creatures within the world.
Regarding the project’s purpose, Yiwei P’ng stated that Prism Arcana is intended to house the stories and details that exist beyond the scope of any single game, allowing fans to explore the world at their own pace.
