A 32-year-old man is facing sexual assault charges in connection with an incident on a Mississauga bus and is also being investigated for a similar alleged assault in York Region.
Mississauga Sexual Assault Investigation
Saman Salimianrizi was arrested and charged after allegedly sexually assaulting a woman on a bus on November 18. Police say Salimianrizi sat beside the woman, who was unknown to him, and the assault occurred while the bus was in motion.
Salimianrizi was apprehended a short distance from where he fled the bus and has been charged with sexual assault and two counts of breaching probation. He remains in custody following a bail hearing.
Investigators believe Salimianrizi may be connected to another sexual assault in York Region and are seeking information regarding potential additional victims. Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
