A 50-year-old Chinese Singaporean man will be charged Tuesday, April 28, for allegedly posting antisemitic content on WhatsApp targeting the Jewish community.

The police received a report on September 10, 2025, regarding three offensive images posted as 24-hour WhatsApp statuses. According to a police news release, the account’s profile description also contained antisemitic messaging.

The individual was arrested three days after the report was filed once he was identified as the owner of the account.

Charges for Promoting Racial Enmity

The man will be charged with two counts of attempting to promote enmity between different racial groups. If convicted, he faces a potential sentence of up to three years in jail, a fine, or both.

The police stated they take a serious view of acts that have the potential to harm racial and religious harmony in Singapore and will deal firmly with offenders.
