Screenshots ricocheted across X within minutes, and the free agency in basketball briefly seemed to have been spoiled by the franchise pursuing him. The video disappeared almost as quickly as it surfaced, and by the end of the night, the Heat had supplied an answer.

A team spokesperson told ESPN’s Shams Charania that the club’s social media department was preparing for the possibility of James’ signing and mistakenly posted the link. The Cleveland Cavaliers, Philadelphia 76ers, and Heat are believed to be the top teams James is considering, sources told ESPN, although other teams — including the Golden State Warriors — have also been mentioned as suitors. Rich Paul of Klutch Sports, James’ agent, said earlier Tuesday that he does not know when his client will decide what team he’ll play for next season.
