Michael O’Connell of Tourmakeady, County Mayo, and formerly of Mitchelstown, County Cork, passed away peacefully at Mayo University Hospital, Castlebar, on March 24th, 2026.

He was predeceased by his siblings Mary, Nora, and Peter.
Mr. O’Connell is deeply mourned by his wife, Mary Jo (nee Feehan), and his family: Sinead (Heffernan), Danny, Aoife (McGee), and Gary.
He will be sadly missed by his grandchildren Charlie, Oscar, Lewis, Isabelle, Quinn, Audrey and Silas, sons-in-law Barry and Johnny, daughters-in-law Emma and Mary, as well as his nephews, nieces, relatives, and friends.
Reposing will take place at St Mary’s Funeral Home, Tourmakeady (F12XY26) on Thursday evening from 5:30pm until 7:00pm.
A Requiem Mass will be held in St Mary’s Church, Tourmakeady on Friday at 12:00 noon. The mass can be viewed online at www.churchtv.ie/tourmakeady.
A cremation service will be held at Shannon Crematorium on Saturday, March 28th at 3:00 pm. The service can be viewed at https://shannoncrematorium.com/content/26-live-streaming, with the link going live at 2:55 pm. The password for the livestream is MM3C.
The family requests that their home be kept private at this time.
