He added, “The final list of players’ names that will be approved in the Asian Finals, which will be hosted by the Qatari capital, Doha, during the period from next January 12 to February 6, will be announced during the next few days,” noting that “the Spanish coach Casas, who is in his country… He will send the final list after consulting with his assistants, and it includes the players most ready to represent the national team in the continental forum.”
Imad continued, “The initial list of national team players, which includes 50 players, was sent to the tournament organizing committee on the 12th of this month, without it being announced in the media because it will provide a great service to the competing teams, and will also negatively affect the club players in the Stars League.” Iraq,” stressing that “none of the participating teams worked to publish the preliminary list.”
Imad pointed out that “the team’s players will gather in Abu Dhabi on the second of next month, for a short camp, including a friendly match against the Korean Samson on the sixth of the month, and then the team will travel to Doha to participate in its group competitions, which it will begin by meeting Indonesia on the 15 of next month.” And facing Japan on the 19th, and concluding the group competitions with a meeting with Vietnam on the 24th of the same month.”
Regarding the presence of Montazer Al Majed, a professional in Hammarby Club, active in the Swedish League, Imad explained, “The player Montazer Al Majed is on the preliminary list, and his presence on the final list is due to coach Casas, who finds in this young player a promising future with the national team.”
