Morocco to Gaza: Soldiers Join Multinational Force Aid

Morocco, Greece, and Albania are in advanced discussions with the United States to contribute soldiers to the international stabilization force in the Gaza Strip.

International Force Deployment to Gaza

Morocco is expected to be the first Arab country to join the force. The nation restored diplomatic ties with Israel in 2020 as part of the Abraham Accords, an initiative brokered during the Trump administration, leading to increased cooperation between the two countries.

U.S. military representatives from Kiryat Gat recently coordinated with the IDF Southern Command regarding the deployment of troops to an area between Rafah and Khan Yunis. This location will serve as the base for the multinational force.

The base, located in the southern Gaza Strip, is anticipated to accommodate personnel from various armies, including contractors responsible for its construction. Work on the base is expected to commence at the end of the month.

Indonesia has also approved the deployment of thousands of soldiers as part of the U.S.-initiated force. Indonesian military officials announced Sunday that up to 8,000 troops could be prepared for potential deployment to Gaza by the end of June.
