Pakistani Airstrikes Target Afghanistan
Pakistani security sources reported that the airstrikes were aimed at destroying terrorist camps and support infrastructure within Afghanistan. The strikes reportedly hit areas in Kabul and Afghan border provinces, resulting in several deaths, according to France 24.
Afghanistan has condemned the attacks, alleging that Pakistani forces targeted homes in Kabul and Kandahar. Al Jazeera reports that Afghan officials have accused Pakistan of conducting the air attacks.
Taliban officials and the United Nations have stated that the Pakistani airstrikes caused civilian casualties in Kabul, according to Reuters. The extent of the casualties is currently unconfirmed.
Radio Pakistan reported that the armed forces carried out “successful” airstrikes in Afghanistan.
