Broadcaster Ryan Tubridy and his wife, Dr Clare Kambamettu, are expecting their first child together, with a baby due early in the new year, EVOKE reported.
Expecting a New Addition in Early New Year
The upcoming arrival follows the couple's intimate wedding in Connemara in December 2025. A source close to the broadcaster confirmed that the baby is due early in the new year and that Dr Kambamettu is doing great while keeping details private. The new arrival will be the first child for Dr Kambamettu, a 42-year-old clinical psychologist and former Rose of Tralee. For Tubridy, who turned 53 in May, the baby will join his two adult daughters, aged 27 and 21, from his first marriage.

Building a Life Together After the RTÉ Controversy
The family news follows a period of significant personal transition for Tubridy, who stepped away from RTÉ following a high-profile payments scandal. Dr Kambamettu became a vital support system during the public fallout. Reflecting on their relationship in an interview with Miriam O’Callaghan earlier in the year, Tubridy described his wife as an extraordinary person who changed everything and remained a steady presence throughout the uncertainty. The couple first made their public appearance together in November 2023, several months after his exit from Irish state broadcaster RTÉ, after initially connecting when she appeared on his former radio program.
Celebrating Milestones in Connemara and Beyond
The pair celebrated their wedding at the Abbeyglen Castle Hotel in Clifden, Co Galway, surrounded by close friends and family. Tubridy later confirmed his engagement on his Virgin Media UK radio programme, which broadcasts on Q102 in Ireland, sharing his excitement for the future. The broadcaster recently opened up about undergoing therapy to cope with the emotional toll of the payments controversy, which left him feeling isolated. Now, dividing his time between Ireland and London—where he presents a Sunday afternoon show on Times Radio and hosts his podcast The Bookshelf with Ryan Tubridy—the presenter is looking toward parenthood once again.
If you met Clare, you’ll know why. I tell you what, I’ll be honest with you, I keep a lot to myself. I don’t share too much. If you met Clare, you’ll know why.
