Google has officially confirmed that its next Made by Google event will take place on August 12 in New York City. The upcoming presentation will serve as the venue for the company to unveil the new Pixel 11 series, arriving just weeks after the launch of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8. While the company’s event invite does not explicitly name every model, the imagery provided clearly displays a new Pixel phone that bears a strong resemblance to previous generations.
Pixel 11 Pro Fold Leak Reveals New Pine Colorway
As the launch date approaches, leaks regarding the Pixel 11 Pro Fold have intensified. Mystic Leaks recently shared an official-looking render of the back of the device, showcasing the new “Pine” colorway. This shade, described as a darker green that remains relatively light in the grand scheme, is expected to be consistent across the Pixel 11 Pro and Pro XL models as well. The render indicates that the back of the phone is nearly identical to the Pixel 10 Pro Fold, continuing the use of a satin frame, while the other Pro models are expected to feature a shiny, glossy finish. The device is also paired with a light gold frame and ‘G’ logo.

Design refinements are evident in the camera bar, which appears slightly narrower than the version found on last year’s model. Additionally, the camera cutouts now extend all the way to the edge of the module. The flash, which looks larger than before, has been relocated to the left side inside the pill-shaped cutout, rather than occupying its own space. Early reports suggest that the Pro and Pro Fold models may feature a slightly thinner chassis compared to their predecessors.
Google Adopts Samsung Storage and Pricing Strategy
A significant change arriving with the Pixel 11 series is the restructuring of storage tiers. According to retail leaks, Google is doubling the base storage across the entire Pixel 11 lineup to 256GB. This move marks the first time the company has eliminated the 128GB storage option entirely. This strategy mirrors a move made by Samsung earlier this year with the Galaxy S26 launch; by removing the 128GB option, the entry price effectively increased by $100 compared to the Galaxy S25.

Pricing details for the Eurozone and the UK have surfaced, confirming the cost of these new configurations. The Pixel 11 starts at €999 (£879) for the 256GB model, while the 512GB version is priced at €1,129 (£999). For the Pixel 11 Pro, the 256GB model begins at €1,199 (£1,079), the 512GB at €1,329 (£1,199), and the 1TB model at €1,589 (£1,429). The Pixel 11 Pro XL starts at €1,399 (£1,279) for 256GB, rising to €1,529 (£1,399) for 512GB, and reaching €1,789 (£1,629) for the 1TB version. The Pixel 11 Pro Fold carries the highest price points, starting at €1,999 (£1,799) for 256GB, followed by €2,129 (£1,919) for 512GB, and €2,389 (£2,149) for the 1TB model.
Reports suggest that these inflated price tags are influenced by an AI-driven component shortage. Beyond storage and price, rumors point to the inclusion of “Pixel Glow,” a rear-facing notification and status light. While the company has not confirmed these details, the sleek design in the teaser imagery matches early speculation regarding the updated hardware.
The transition to these new devices is designed to be seamless for existing users. According to Google, switching to a new Pixel does not require starting over. Users can pair or connect their old phone to the new device, allowing data such as photos, messages, and contacts to copy over. The new Pixel guides the user through this process, which takes approximately 20 minutes to complete.
