The investigation centers around a case of mistaken identity, with authorities believing Mr. Baghsarian was targeted instead of a relative of Sydney businessman Dimitri Stepanyan. Video footage emerged showing Mr. Baghsarian being tortured in a safehouse at Dural, along with a ransom demand of $50 million.

Mr. Baghsarian’s remains were discovered on a golf course at Pitt Town 11 days after his abduction. Currently, only two men have been charged with murder in connection with his death.

On Wednesday, NSW Police released new security camera footage depicting three individuals walking along Wildthorn Avenue in Dural, near the safehouse, on the night of February 13 – hours after Mr. Baghsarian was kidnapped. Video obtained previously showed three men entering Mr. Baghsarian’s home at the time of the kidnapping.

NSW Police Commissioner Mal Lanyon described the crime as “a heinous offence” while speaking to 702 ABC Radio Sydney. He stated that two men are currently before the court charged with murder and detainment for advantage.

“These are further males that we believe can assist with our inquiries and a motor vehicle that we also believe may be relevant to our inquiries as well,” Commissioner Lanyon said.

Police have also released images of a blue Hyundai sedan believed to be involved in the kidnapping. The vehicle was spotted around 12pm on February 14 in Dural.

“We believe these males may be involved. It’s important we identify who they are and either rule them in or eliminate them from our inquiries,” Commissioner Lanyon said. He added that the vehicle is a blue Hyundai sedan missing a hubcap on the left-hand side and was seen traveling to the house where Mr. Baghsarian was held.
