/ Today, Friday, the European Union included two Hamas leaders on its terrorist list, following the attack carried out by the movement last October 7 on Israel.

According to Reuters, the European Union said that the two people are Muhammad Al-Deif, commander-in-chief of the Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Hamas movement, and his deputy, Marwan Issa.

Under the decision, the two leaders’ funds and other financial assets in European Union member states will be frozen starting Friday.

turn; A senior European Union official expressed his expectation that the bloc will adopt more sanctions against Hamas in the coming weeks.

“I’m sure sanctions on Hamas will be adopted in the next few weeks, something like that,” said the official, who spoke on condition of anonymity.

A European diplomat also revealed to Al-Arabiya/Al-Hadath that the Union is considering tightening measures to dry up Hamas’ financial resources in Europe.

It is noteworthy that on October 7, Hamas launched a surprise attack during which its members infiltrated Israeli military bases through the separation fence and attacked border settlements on the Gaza Strip, which, according to Israel, led to the death of about 1,200 people.

Since then, Israel has responded with intense bombing of the Gaza Strip and a ground operation launched on October 27, which has so far resulted in the deaths of 17,487 people, the majority of whom are civilians, according to the Ministry of Health in Gaza.
