/ The Arab Wrestling Championship for advanced players was launched in the capital, Baghdad, today, Friday, with the participation of seven Arab countries, while Iraq has won 4 gold medals “so far.”
Wrestling Federation member Hadi Amara said in an interview with Agency, “Seventy wrestlers representing seven Arab countries are participating in the tournament, which is being held in Baghdad over two days.”
He added, “The teams actually entered the championship competitions after the Iraqi Federation prepared all the organizational matters, especially since the championship is an important event in the journey of Arab wrestling.”
He pointed out that “the competitions so far have witnessed us obtaining 4 gold medals through Ali Essam, with a weight of 70 kg, Khattab Omar, with a weight of 57 kg, Abdel Arkan, with a weight of 62 kg, and Mustafa Abdel Basit, with a weight of 86 kg.”
