Starmer’s Apology Deemed Insufficient

Brian Leishman, Labour MP for Alloa and Grangemouth, believes Keir Starmer’s apology was inadequate. He described the Prime Minister’s decision to appoint Peter Mandelson as demonstrating “incredible misjudgement,” stating, “It goes beyond saying sorry.”

When questioned about Starmer’s future, Leishman said the situation is developing “hour by hour, day by day.” He added that those who surround the Prime Minister also require examination, specifically mentioning his chief of staff, Morgan McSweeney.

Leishman urged Starmer to “put country before party,” echoing his own words. He also stated that ministers should hand over private communications with Mandelson, calling it “absolutely, categorically” a good procedure.
