Today, Saturday, the General Traffic Directorate set the date for launching the national project in the capital, Baghdad, and the provinces, while confirming that there is no objection to importing damaged cars, but within the permitted model.
The official spokesman for Public Traffic, Brigadier General Ziyad Al-Qaisi, told the (INA): “The General Traffic Directorate is keen to implement the law, and the law stipulates that cars must enter according to the prescribed model,” explaining that “the 2021 model was banned from entering.” There is no objection to entering damaged cars, but within the permitted model.”
Regarding the national project, Al-Qaisi added, “The new national project has been contracted and will be implemented in Baghdad and the provinces during the next few days, and the beginning will be in the capital, Baghdad.”
He pointed out that “the directorate is awaiting legal legislation that unifies the traffic law between the federal government and the Iraqi Kurdistan Regional Government, with all traffic procedures.”
