Don Lemon, former CNN host, has pleaded not guilty to federal charges stemming from an incident at a church in Minneapolis. The charges relate to allegations that Lemon and activist Nekima Levy Armstrong interfered with a police investigation.

Don Lemon’s Legal Challenges

Lemon and Armstrong were indicted on charges of interfering with a police investigation after an incident at the North Memorial Medical Center in Minneapolis in April. The charges allege they requested personal information about a patient who had overdosed.

Both Lemon and Armstrong entered not guilty pleas in federal court, according to reports. The incident occurred while Lemon was filming content for his new show on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Contradictory Claims and Video Evidence

Video evidence appears to contradict some of Lemon’s initial claims about the incident. The Washington Post reported on the emergence of this video.

Legal Representation

Lemon has hired a federal prosecutor, Daniel Goldman, who previously resigned from the Department of Justice over the Trump administration’s immigration policies, to represent him in the case. Goldman previously served as counsel during the first impeachment inquiry of former President Donald Trump.

Following the arrest, several Trump administration officials condemned Lemon, but his profile has reportedly increased since launching his show on X.
