UCD staff member due in court over accessing student data

A staff member at University College Dublin (UCD) is due in court today charged with unlawfully accessing student data. The man, in his 50s, was arrested this morning following an investigation by the Garda National Cyber Crime Bureau.

Over 100 students whose personal information and images were accessed have been interviewed by gardaí.

The man faces over 140 offences and is scheduled to appear before the Dublin District Court this morning.

Gardaí are continuing to contact victims to offer support and are also coordinating with University College Dublin regarding the incident.
